Following on from yesterday’s announcements regarding schools I am writing to update you on our current position.
As advised by the government schools should make provision available to pupils who have an EHCP, have parents who are key workers and/or are vulnerable. Following this information Langham Oaks School will continue to be open to pupils, however, as you will appreciate this is a dynamic situation and is dependent on staff being well enough to attend. To help us to plan effectively we are asking parents and carers to update us with the following information:
If you have access to e-mail please could you communicate this information to us at email@example.com
If you choose to keep your child at home we will support their learning through the provision of learning resource packs and the learning zone which can be accessed via the schools website.
Once further planning has taken place we will be in a position to share the offer of support that will be available; we will do this as soon as possible.
We are discussing how teachers will maintain contact with pupils and families – we will share this information with you as soon as we are in a position to do so.
Please note this is a national situation– as you may have heard in the news – so while it is challenging, we are not alone. As soon as we are able to return to full educational provision we will let you know via email and the school website.
This is as much as we know right now and we appreciate your continued patience as we deal with this ever changing situation. We understand this may have an impact on your family; we will continue to keep in touch with updates as it develops.
If you want to get in touch to share concerns, please do not hesitate to do so via Langham Oaks
And remember: if you or your child feels ill and you want to know what to do next you can go to
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/ or contact NHS 111 online
In the short term it is our intention to continue as we have done today and those boys attending onsite provision will do so as normal tomorrow. On Monday 23rd March the school will be closed for planning. The school will reopen on Tuesday 24th in some form. We will notify you of what Tuesday and the rest of the week looks like on Monday no later than 5.00 pm.
Thank you for your continued support and patience at this difficult time.
