Update letter from Ruth Sturdy CEO SEAX Trust (4/1/21)
04 January 2021
Dear Parents/Carers 4th January 2021
I write to wish you a Happy New Year and to update you on the arrangements for all of our SEAX academies. I appreciate that the messages and information coming from lots of sources has probably been confusing and annoying at times. I have tried to keep you up to date with information as I get it, but this has been a challenge at times!
I met with Headteachers and Trustees today and would like to confirm the following:
- All our schools are open to pupils if you feel it is safe for them to attend. I know that with the very infectious strain of Covid that is currently in our community that you may have serious concerns about your child attending school and I would like to make it clear that we will not penalise you if you decide to keep your child at home. We will provide remote learning for them to do at home if you take this option for your child. The situation is constantly changing and we understand that your decision may change too.
- We will review our plans for the education of all our children on a weekly basis and will try our best to inform you in plenty of time if there are changes to arrangements. We will only make changes if they are absolutely necessary and only ever in the best interests of our community.
- We are taking this week to plan for how best to deliver testing for Covid. We want to make sure that we have the right set up and training for this. I would like to reassure you that there is no pressure on you to agree to allowing your child to take a test. You will be asked for your consent before we start and you can change your mind at any time.
Thank you again for your support and understanding. We cannot work without you working with us and we are grateful for all that you do.
